Public Schools holidays observed. -Licenced to serve 150 children. -Six very spacious classrooms. -Breakfast, hot lunch and snack included. -Food prepared on premises. Fees.   There is no application fee for our programs. Families are encouraged to come to the center and fill out an application in order to be placed on the waiting list.  BCCCprogramfees are based upon a sliding scale, according to family size and income. Children’s classroom placement is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Accessibility: The Barbara Chambers Children's Center is accessible by these bus routes: H 2, 4, and 8; S 2, 4 and 6; 14th St. buses 52, 54, and 56. The Center is located one block from the Columbia Heights Metro station on the Green Line.
Facilities:   In 2002 The Barbara Chambers Children's Center, achieve an important milestone when we purchased our permanent home at 1470 Irving Street., NW, after having rented the building for decades.  The building has four floors which include a full service kitchen, an all-purpose room, classrooms, and staff offices and meeting space.
