Parent involvement: Our parents have responded actively to the challenge of making our programs successful. Children,
teachers, and parents have had wonderful experiences through our involvement with this project. Our programs are two-way
learning experiences, helping us toward a better understanding of ourselves and the world around us. Parents of our
students show us how much they care for their children and how open they are to learning both with them and with us. Their
children learn how to love themselves and how to love one another, learning from us respect for themselves and each other.
The Barbara Chambers Children's Center coordinates regular parent meetings to discuss program expectations, student
progress, and parental concerns, as well as to discuss recommendations for improving both the program itself and the youngsters’
participation in it. Parent involvement is highly encouraged and welcomed. The BCCC’s PTA supports the center
by organizing raffles, yard sales, dances, cook outs, carnivals, car washes, and trips to the beach during summer time.
